Sajokuumba, i understand that you are a soninke from Gambia. You lived in Kombo Gunjur, a mandingo town, in Jola territory. But, please, can you just tell us from which soninke village your family is from?
I understand that you've read the Quran many times over the years and some sufi literature; i assume also you read some hadiths. But i am just a little bit surprised that you only focus on the date of the revelation of Islam rather than its message. Islam does recognize the previous prophets. Islam is also the religion of all the prophets who preceded Mohamad S.A.W. You cannot ignore that if you've read the Quran.
The aim here is not to debate about the veracity of Islam, but just to bring some important precisions about this religion that have been omitted.
Its true that religion is part of human being culture. And this is the case for the Soninke people who almost 100% adopted Islam as their religion. But Islam has never been the root cause of all the issues the Soninke culture is facing now.
